Hello,

I practise shotokan now for 2 years , but I have this knee injury for 4 months. After few months kinetherapy I went to a sportdoctor and he told me I might have a jumpersknee. He also told me that im born with a disability on both knee's even tho i never had problems with my knee's ( my knee's tend to overstretch what isnt natural the doctor told me). Basically when i bend my RIGHT knee something in my knee doesn't fit in as it shud( forgive me forgot what the name was :) ) and this is why I get water at the back in my knee and hamstring. This should be fixed now by going back to kiné and getting my quadriceps(vastus medialis) stronger with specific exercises plus extra stretches. Also my patella tendon is slightly injured but its not really pain I have in my knee , my knee rather feels swollen and like its blocking I cant rotate on that leg .

Now the doctor told me I was born with this disability even tho on the left side my knee bends alot more and I have no problems with my left knee.
The hings I learned while training and stretching is that everything on my right side is less flexible, my right hip joint and my right hamstrings are less flexible then my left.I wonder if this problem starts in my lower back or my hip joint?
My right side gives me problems with the side kick and high kick aswell, with the side kick it blocks my left leg to kick higher and with the high kick i can kick high with the left leg, but the right hip joint doesnt rotate proper and if I kick a high kick with the right leg the hamstring blocks a little bit.

I have the split dvd and kick combo.
I already done some stretch routines and they helped alot but the right side always seemed to stay more behind. Maybe I just need to keep stretching and be patience, but maybe som1 can give me some specific exercises to get my right hip joint more open.

all advice is welcome
Thank you in advance

Duffy,

That's a large picture, for me to attempt to give advice on.
I trained someone while back, he also had knee issues and right side was tighter. He had functional scaliosis with left shoulder higher and his disks very injured. We found that compressed nerves were causing the issue. Since I am not a naturopathic doctor, I won't give nutrition advice, but try to find a good ND and ask him about cleansing the liver and gall bladder and taking joint supplements.

First thank you for your reply, currently im doing exercices at home and going 2X week to kiné. I'm lucky I asked my sister about cleansing the liver and galbladder and she takes tablets for that aswell 100 % naturel , might take them to but i am going to thinkg about it first and I also asked her about the supplement for the joints she can get from her ND doctor lucky me :), also im gonna try a massage oil for after stretching. Hope to see progress soon I'll let ya known.
Again thx for the help.

Hello Paul,

Now all the water is out of the knee area and its only my patella tendon that is stil weak, its healing very slowly. At the moment im only stretching my quadriceps and hamstrings and stil doing exercises for my vastius medialis.
Those exercises really helped to get the pressure of my knee, but my patella tendon is stil very weak.
Does your DVD about the knee injury cover the patella tendon?

thx in advance

I'm quite interested in hearing this answer also. I've done my collateral/ medial and anterior kreshiate ligaments. Also torn the meniscus. I'm having surgey in the next couple of months. Or so i'm told.

I just received an answer from the costumer service and yes it does cover the traction of the patella. I will prolly buy the DVD.

Thank you
