Hey I just ordered the DVD and book on flexibility and the spits I can't wait for it to get here I am a 45 yo mother of 2. I have been practicing Karate for 3.5 years and I want to take it to the next level. I need to drop another 25kg (I already lost 25Kg) and I want to improve all of my techniques and my flexibility.. I originally took up Karate because my kids were doing it and I thought it might be good to do it with them....the short story here is that it has been a life changing experience so far and I truely believe that things can only improve.....so nice to be here.

Great to have you here. I am a 25 year old student/ instructor of tkd who has been training a total of roughly 12 years. I have always struggled with flexibility and about 1 year ago I decided to finally end the problem. About 6 months ago I stumbled across Paul's videos on YouTube and have seen nothing but improvement since I started using his methods. Last night I was able to perform (poor quality) open splits on both sides and was less than 10" from the ground in the side split. I can't wait to see what will happen in another 6 months!

Hey TKD,
thanks for saying hi, I feel kind of stalled in my fitness program at the moment...I know what I need to do but .... Once I get on the mat at the Dojo i'ts all good and I can work out no problem but I seem to be lacking motivation to do much other than that and work...unfortunately my job is in an office so training is really important...I have been working on several fitness programs trying to work up to being able to do 100 push ups, 200 sit ups and runing 5 km's I have been successful to some extent in that I can do 200 sit ups if I really need to. I can do 20 good form push ups in a set and 50 if I work from my knees...I have worked through the c25k program so I can slowly jog 5k now and I have been trying to work on my speed so I can do it in a more reasonable time.... I can't wait to get the DVD and book It may be just what I need to motivate me to work up to doing the spilts... This past 2 weeks have been pretty wacky when it comes to training the school holidays make it hard with our dojo running special class times for the kids and stuff....Next week I should be able to move back into a reasonable routine next week. I am looking for extra infomation on how to tailor an exercise program that will work in conjuction with me training 4 times a week at the dojo and will help me to move forward on strength and flexibility... I have managed to obtain the level of 2nd kyu so I am pretty happy with my progress on that front...when I consider where I was when I started Karate to where I am now I am very happy. I would really appreciate any help or information that I could get to help me move forward.
thanks again.

Hi Lisa,
Sounds to me like your doing really well. Your in the right place for help. Just browsing this forum alone gives you plenty of tips and Ideas. The book and dvd is a great investment which will help you with your flexibillity program. As I was reading your post I was sat here thinking She needs the Gravity Advantage Book! Can I suggest that maybe you invest in this sometime in the near future?

Hi Dave,
thanks for the idea, I will have a go with what I have ordered and if I am happy with that I will look at the gravity advantage. funds are a little limited at the moment and with 2 kids probably wont improve for a while like the next 10 years. lol but self improvement is the aim here and I plan to do whatever it takes....still waiting on the first book I wish I could download it...I hate waiting but Australia is a fair way to go so I will have to be patient maybe by the end of this week.
I will be around a bit the reading on this board is amazing.

hey it arrived today very cool....I have read through most of the book and I was impressed to see that many of the warm ups and light stretches were things that are already incorporated into my martial arts training....I haven't finished reading or seen the whole DVD yet but I plan to make time for it this weekend....I need to work out a schedule that will incorporate the goals I have set for myself....so there is a huge amount of work to do...I need to break off bite sized chunks of my goals and map it out....I am going to need to get up in the am and work through the light and dynamic stretching...I think I will work on the deep stretching after class so that my classes act as the warm up for me...actually I think I need to type up what I am doing and post it here perhaps you guys could give me some advice...we just need to keep in mind that I work full time and I am a wife and mother so I have to make sure I have my priorities right....
I will be back soon with questions.....lol
