Hello,
I want to know what would be the best way to use both programs.
I am currently in so-so physical shape and am not interested in rushing through things.
I study Shorin-Ryu Karate(I am on a break currently due to a new job) and would like to be able to perform better.
Any and all responses will be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Tom

Tom,
I use both program and if I understand correctly many other people do the same in this forum.
I work out 6 times a week. M,W,F I do GA and T,Th,Su I do ES.
Basically I concider GA my upper body work out and ES my lower body work out. I have been doing it this way for over 6 month and it work beautifully.
In my oppinion combining both GA and ES in the same work out is too much. Also I am sure someone may disagree.

Thanks Trapper!
do you combine it with anything else- weights, resistance bands, isometrics, etc?

You can totally combine the two. As old saying, together it's better than the sum of it's parts.
I feel like elasticsteel has added to my power, because of better understanding of the body and better technique. (steed, focus, balance, flexibility)
But not hoarse power. For that I use weights in squats and dead lifts.
When I don't have those, I do plyometrics.
In terms of upper body, I stuck to GA. Also looking forward to GA max, when ever it becomes available.

I work out 3 times a week.
One week I do Elasticsteel exercises followed by GravityAdvantage. Following week I do the opposite.
Three times a week I get a full body work out. I think that training 6 times a week can overload the body, so I would do that.
Also my work outs are under an hour each, so it's not that bad.
This does not include the light stretches in the morning.

How do you do your workouts in under an hour. mine seem to drag on much longer?

I get an hour lunch, so that helps lol
Which exercises do you do, Aloprey?
Also how long do you rest in between?

Joint rotations

Light Stretches
Mobility Swings
Conditioning exercises
Hip in and out
Leg Circles.
No rest between anything and takes me longer than an hour. Am I doing it wrong??

Above I approximated how long it takes for me to do those.
On a good day I can even get it all in 40 minutes.
I guess speed that you go with and how long you hold the streches matters too.
I am interested to see how long each segment takes you compared to me.

Hello Ginger. I think 5 minutes on mobility swings may not be needed. I believe you are just preparing the hip joint for more intensity later. It sounds like you maybe going into dynamic stretching where you are looking for your greatest height such as front leg raises. I think 2 sets of 10 or 20 in one set is enough in each direction to wake the hip joint up. This may save you some time. Just a thought. Bill
My mobility swings take 2 minutes.
Right now I am in the situation where I can work out for as long as I like. Looking back when I used to work out in the morning and extra minute of work out meant being late for work was not pleasant.
Also about mobility swings, how high do you/ can you guys go?
